Terms of Use
These terms apply to anyone who uses the CadetHQ app or website. By creating an account or using CadetHQ, you agree to them. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.
What CadetHQ is
CadetHQ is a tool that fire and police departments use to run cadet and explorer programs. Your department controls its program: who may join, the rules members follow and what happens to members who break them. CadetHQ provides the software.
Your account
- Use your real name and keep your contact information current.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Your department may approve, suspend or remove your access at any time.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, bully, threaten or discriminate against anyone.
- Share sexual, violent or otherwise inappropriate content.
- Share other people’s personal information without permission.
- Pretend to be someone else, or log hours or sign-offs that didn’t happen.
- Try to access another person’s account, another department’s information or parts of the service you aren’t allowed to use.
- Use CadetHQ for anything illegal or unrelated to your program.
Department admins can see every chat in their department, and members can report messages. Content that breaks these rules may be removed, and the account may be suspended.
Content you share
You keep ownership of the photos, files and messages you share. You give CadetHQ permission to store and display them to the people in your department who are allowed to see them, only to provide the service.
Departments
Departments that use CadetHQ agree to use it for their program, to keep their staff and member lists accurate, to collect any consent their program requires (including parent or guardian consent for minors) and to follow applicable laws. Agreements about pricing and service levels are made separately with each department.
Availability and changes
We work to keep CadetHQ available and secure, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, change or remove features. CadetHQ is not an emergency communication system. In an emergency, call 911.
Disclaimers and limits
CadetHQ is provided “as is.” To the extent the law allows, CadetHQ is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions a department makes about its program or members.
Ending your use
You can stop using CadetHQ and delete your account in the app at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Changes to these terms
If we make important changes, we will update the date above and let users know in the app. Continuing to use CadetHQ means you accept the updated terms.
